Ooooh! I love burlesque!
I styled a really cool low budget but super sexy looking burlesque shoot a few months back….I got all the lingerie on discount or in outlets but the result were really great!
The black satin and mesh high wasted suspender belt is from Ann Summers, I got it from 8 Euro on their web shop! I really love the ruffles on it at the bum. I find Ann summers a great source of low priced but sexy lingerie. The baby pink ribbed stockings are from Walford, but they came from an outlet for 10 Euro (they normally charge upwards of 50 Euros!), and the pearl style cupless bra that I have on underneath the non under wired mesh triangle one also came from the internet for only a few Euros! The cupless bra actually came from this really terrible, cheap looking set, I never used the single pearl string thong that went with it, but the bra was nice when teamed up.
For burlesque shoots, it can be really nice to layer lingerie up, like I did with the two bras, that way there is something more to strip off or to play with, and will give the shoot a raunchy, teasy feel.
You can go really heavy with the make up, glam it up and dont be afraid, just remember to keep it classy looking at the same time! I was lucky to be working with Jak Morgan for hair and make up, shes really awesome, and we share a love of slightly raunchier images and I would say the best make up artist that I have worked with in Scotland.
Also with Burlesque shoots it important for the model to be really expressive. Think ‘ooohs’ and ‘aaahs’ and ‘will I be naughty and show you whats underneath?’. I love this style, so for me its really not acting

my mom and sis were models of the 50′s-60′s and my grandmother was a seamstress that she used alot of lace on. Seeing these fotos reminds me of the times i went to the shoots with them.
that’s an amazing story! I think the fashions from then were so much more feminine!
